Food & Forest | August 22 | Kerala
Some people teach farming.
Some people teach through the way they live.
This program is not about techniques alone. It is about spending a day with a person whose life itself is an inspiration.
Kunhahammed, my father, is 74 years old. He spent nearly 40 years working in the UAE, helping transform landscapes and food forests while earning the respect of the people he worked with. Even today, after retirement, he continues to receive his pension from there, a reflection of the relationships he built over four decades.
After returning to Kerala, he chose a different life.
On just 3 acres of land, he grows paddy, coconut, pepper, banana, ginger, turmeric, vegetables, tubers, and raises native chickens. Most importantly, he works with his own hands.
Every morning at 6:30 AM, he is in the field. He spends the entire day farming, taking very little outside labour. Whenever I feel tired, I simply look at him. His energy reminds me why this journey matters.
That is the real reason behind this program.
If you are looking for a sustainable lifestyle, or simply want to spend time with someone who quietly lives what many only talk about, come and join us.
